This was actually meant for Halloween but I never finished and put it aside for months. Finally think it is worth posting. I hope people enjoy it.
Liking this a lot; I'd love to see an exploration log.
The quality of the writing and horror here astounds me. Many times I recoiled or went "Ewww", and it harkens back to the old-school scary of Series 1 perfectly fine with the build-up and execution of your narrative akin to Series 2 & 3. My only complaint is that at times the description felt a bit overly long to read through, and it felt like a chore.
Thanks! That is one thing I worried about, at the same time, I wanted to detail everything to give a feel of a strange, symbiotic hive of things that once shared our humanity;p
I think this is very well written. I liked the O5 statement and the reference to Adytum, although I think that was almost secondary, or out-of-context: a nugget of exposition slid rather than worked in.
For me, though, my interest kind of flagged when I realized that these were reworked vampires. There was plenty of additional detail after that, but the big critter wasn't strong enough to bring me back in. Figuratively, anyway. No vote.
I admit, the vampire angle was there from the start. Thus, "Dracula Factory";p I wanted to approach a standard spooky creature from a new angle, especially since this was meant for Halloween.
…and this is officially one of my favorite skips ever.
+ $\infty$ (but its only counting the first time I hit the button, so that will have to do)
Adding on to the other stuff I had said in chat and on forum, I am quite curious about the Sarkic cults/Flesh weaponising flesh and blood for their purpose. Would there be a possible connection with Bigfoot (who do utilise biopunk technology)?
As much as normal people shouldn't root for the villains, I would like to see more of the mysterious Sarkic cults and their Grand Karcist Ion.

What on earth makes you think that anyone on this entire site is normal?
I'm unfamiliar with that word. You don't maybe mean "non-anomalous", do you?
I've considered writing a tale from Ion's point of view. A man who sold out our world. A weak slave who started a rebellion in a part of the Daeva empire near the Ural mountains and… vanished, its plans somehow delayed by the CotBG and other actors, but not without triggering the Bronze Age Collapse. ALthough, as hinted with a lot of my SCP. They were not destroyed and, still have loyal agents in the world secretly building bases of power. Some cults in strange, hidden parts of the world - some in places of power, attracting politicians and business leaders; people willing to sacrifice others in order to get ahead.
In my mind, as I tried to hint with other SCP, Ion and "Adytum" (originally a city state ruled by the Daeva, now much more) was cast into another iteration of our world. And consumed it. He presents himself as almost like the pope of these cults but I think of him more as a middle-man, making terrible bargains with entities outside our reality - chaotic, Lovecraftian sort of horrors.
And now, with its various cults waiting, eagerly for their sorcerer-king, their perverted reality is bleeding back into ours. I don't think of Ion as human anymore. Or at least, its built a godlike presence around itself, carved from flesh and shaped by anomalous relics, to hide that formerly mortal core.
I love every single part of this, from the detailed description of how the 'vampires' function, to the way you made them function, to how it was tied into vampire mythology, to how you made them connected to this eldritch worm monster thing, the connection to Adytum and whatnot, and the O5 letter. The articles surrounding this particular mythology are some of the better things to come out of the site in recent times, IMO.
if your reading this your gay
For where the name "Dracula Factory" came from.

Sadly, I can't find the clip where he originally declares it a "Dracula Factory":p
So, I saw you in the forums pitching a "Vampire factory," and my only thoughts were, "Metaphysician, that's dumb. You're doing a dumb."
I was very, very wrong, and I apologize. I am the dumb. Have a +1 in reconciliation.
I 've read your article from begin to end, but I don't understand why the object class "Keter" is.
Formerly, it was Euclid and I should clasificate this SCP as an Euclid object. Maybe my english is still to weak. Can someone explain why the object class isn't euclid?
:D
Most likely because it is
A). More difficult to contain than a Euclid
B). Much more threatening than a Euclid
or
C). Both
I say C.
Thank you for the answer Kobold, I now have a better understanding of why it has this classification.
:D
Yeah, I think if you look them up on the wiki, you can get a much clearer definition of the two than you'd ever get from me. As far as I know, Keters can and usually are more dangerous than Euclids, and tend to be much more difficult to contain.
