My dad passed away on Monday. I guess as a way of handling things I'm trying to write an "uplifting" skip that isn't all doom and gloom but I was wondering if there are any out there already?

Ones that are positive for humanity, for example, or heal instead of harm, that kind of thing?

There's a perfect one, but it might just make you sadder.

So I'm going to recommend SCP-2295, The Bear with a Heart of Patchwork.

I lost my father about 8 years ago and understand your loss:( So sorry to hear this.

I don't know if it will work for you, but I wrote SCP-2737: A Dead Lamprey as a sort of catharsis dealing with his loss - specifically the last experiment.

There are a few other stories which can be poignant involving relatives who have passed on but are still watching over family. The two that come to mind (that aren't mentioned above) are

Wow guys. I'm truly touched by the responses and the amazing articles. It takes skill to make an effectively scary skip, but to make one that tugs at the heartstrings, and uplifts whilst it does so, takes real talent and quite possibly a personally painful past event.
